Can my 6 speed manual transmission be swapped out for an automatic in my c6

Yes. Much easier to go that route, than to go from an automatic to a manual transmission. Obviously I am not an expert on all the parts that need to be changed, but my short list would be the trans, computer for the engine and trans, center console, linkage, etc.
I'm sure someone will chime in that it would be a lot less expensive to sell your car and buy one with an automatic.

I'll do just that. Sell it and buy an automatic! This conversion will cost thousands and give you nothing but a big headache.

I agree that it would be way smarter to sell the car and buy an auto if you want. All changing it over will do is increase your investment in the car by $10k and reduce it's value by the same amount.
