C3 hard to keep going

Hi again, my c3 drives good for hours upon end, however when I stop and turn off the engine I can’t restart it, or if I do as soon as I shift it into gear it dies. So I have to leave it to cool down before I can start it and move off. Has anyone else had this problem

Sounds like your ignition module is giving up the ghost. Also could be an odd carburetor or fuel pump issue. If it uses the HEI in that year I would definitely lean towards a intermittent ignition module in the distributor. I had a very similar issue with 2 Chevys in the past. Check for spark when it craps out by pulling number 1 spark plug wire and hold it about a quarter inch from the plug connector.
