Hi, having trouble with speedo drive on my C2 manual trans. Has a new cable but only works for a few minutes. I am not 100% sure what the drive gear is but put in driven gear I think should be correct. Went to replace with another and it dropped into tailshaft...put another one in anyway, same thing, lasts only a few minutes.
Darn cable is so long it’s looped around a bit (supposed to be correct from Western Corvette).
Whats your best guess, too much drag in speedo cable or mismatch gear set? I hate pulling trans with that cross member not being removable
