FYI. They have been ghosting customers in the last few weeks. They have made statements (hearsay) through customers that they have been compromised, but are not out of business. So don't order anything from them until things sort themselves out.

For what it’s worth. And no this is not a guess by an AI algorithm. Perplexity AI is simply a search engine that uses AI to scrape the internet for information from sites hosting the requested information. No actually you don’t. They do have a “ pro “ version which is subscription based. I believe it’s $25.00 per month but gives access to much more advanced LLM’s . But the free version for general search is really good. I find it much faster than conventional search engines and you avoid the first two dozen or more “ ranked “ or promoted results. Then you have to check each result after filtering out those one at a time having to go to multiple sites to hopefully find what you are after.Except you need an account for it.
I saw the "sign up" and the drop down asked to sign in with google etc. so assumed one needed to.No actually you don’t. They do have a “ pro “ version which is subscription based. Perplexity returns all of the pertinent results in one click. With the source of each result given . It really is a much better way to search as it isn’t primarily focused on add revenue. Conventional search engines are set up the way they are for a reason. To keep you clicking through possible results one at a time to expose the user to as many adds as possible. As well as, just as importantly to them, to profile user habits both in general and individually. Creepy.
Ya . There should be a law that compels any entity that holds anyone’s personal information to disclose being compromised promptly. I’m not aware of any. Especially given that so many people still use the same password for everything. Something like “ password “ or “ qwerty “ or 1234567 for example, lol . Sad but true. . I have seen instances where it is months if not longer before there is disclosure unless outed by perhaps an insider. They have to keep their shareholders happy. This from one customer.
They began not responding and eventually fessed up that they were having some 'internal issues'. They eventually sent an a text message 2 weeks ago stating they had "something catastrophic happened in our company that has crippled us for the time being" and that "systems have been compromised as well as our system we use for shipping and even our banking has been compromised." They ask for patience for "a few weeks since a lot of the issues were internal" and "ask that you spread the word that we will still be here but we have an issue that will take several weeks to repair."
If you submit your email they will send you a link to download the app. As well as tutorials. Stick with it and I bet you’ll start to use it. In the free version you get 5 “Pro “ searches a day as well. I’m what way did you find it slower than Google ? On the left it says login. The bottom option is to give your email. That is the best way to go. Also under the discover tab they have numerous interesting articles on a variety of topics. Also there is access to a list of all of your searches with just a click which is very convenient. Worth taking a bit of time to explore all of the features. Give it a chance and I’d be very surprised if you don’t start to like it.I saw the "sign up" and the drop down asked to sign in with google etc. so assumed one needed to.
I just tried it and find it much slower than google. However it is nice not to see all the sponsorship ads

Could be your internet connection as well. I find most of the time that it’s almost instantaneous results unless it’s a fairly obscure request. The results came in slowly a line at a time. Google responds instantly
Don't see how if google responds quickly every time.Could be your internet connection as well. I find most of the time that it’s almost instantaneous results unless it’s a fairly obscure request.
Perhaps not your connection then . I have had no issues with it. It’s all I use now. Haven’t used anything other than Duck Duck Go for years but I do prefer this for sure. As you know response time can vary depending upon server load but I have not noticed any significant delays with it having used it several times today as did you. Strange. Perhaps if you have them send you a link to the actual app you may notice a difference otherwise I have no idea what the issue could be. I believe it’s a minimum 4% per annum withdrawal from a RRIF . I don’t have to think about that for a while yet though.Don't see how if google responds quickly every time.
"what is the minimum rrif payment" for example.
LOL, I just used it as a test. Try it and see what it does for you.I believe it’s a minimum 4% per annum withdrawal from a RRIF . I don’t have to think about that for a while yet though.
I understand. Just did and it was almost instant. Looks like our fiends err , friends in Ottawa have increased it . I am stunned ,lol . Maybe try again later or tomorrow. I’m confident that you will begin to like it as you become more familiar with it. As with most info from the web if it’s important always double check of course.LOL, I just used it as a test. Try it and see what it does for you.
