CCF V2 Beta Testers - New Shoutbox Realtime Chat

Beta Testers Galore this week.

Hot on the heels of Covers and Articles we have a basic Shoutbox feature that's now open to Beta. You can get to it by selecting SHOUTBOX from the menu. No real instructions as it's really really self explanatory so let me know how you make out.

Hey Nik. I noticed when I "shout" in the box, I have to refresh my browser to see what I have "shouted". Not sure if this is normal or a bug. I haven't tried a different browser yet, but I will do that to make sure it's not Safari related.

That's a definite bug, are you able to get to your browser console to check on any errors? Is it Safari for Mobile ?

Doh it's a firewall problem blocking your messages. Let me fix it and I'll let you know.

OK, refresh issue should be fixed now. Try again. You should not have to refresh to see messages.

My shoutbox entries take about 4 seconds to show up but don't have to refresh now.

Shoutbox is almost done and ready to be published. Thanks to the beta group for helping shake it down.

Shoutbox should now be live for all registered users, it's available under Forum->Shoutbox (submenu) or as a little widget on the home page.

You're looking at the wrong place, there should be a new chat type box if you scroll to the bottom of the forum home page or you can get directly to it via this link: https://canadiancorvetteforums.com/shoutbox/

No worries. This is a pure realtime chat box so no fancy buttons.
