Best Oil Filter

  • Surface Filtration:
Particles are retained on the surface of the filter material, like a mesh or woven fabric.

  • Depth Filtration:
Particles are captured within the pores and interspaces of the filter medium, which can be thicker or have multiple layers, forming a torturous path. This allows for a higher capacity to hold particles before the filter needs to be replaced.

If we can get there depth Filtration element for the dct filter would be golden for the tranny?

LT2s (and LT1s) have a dual stage oil pump and the pressure relief valve spec is important. Make sure any aftermarket filter you use has the correct value. Just because it screws in doesn't mean it's the right filter.

Note, I'm not saying the Canton filter isn't right, nor that it is. Just suggesting if you're going to use it you find out.

If it last almost 10 years ownership in the LT5 ZR-1 for 100k kms, I am sure it will be fine in the LT2 as well. I trust their products, they have been in business long before I start using their stuff over 30 years ago.

I will send in my 1500km oil for analysis. Swapped out for the CM filter only, then do another analysis at around 3000 km. That will show if this CM is doing as it was design to do. Especially the particle size.
Keep us updated !

You're weird. You probably have eggs for dinner...
