Question Any idea what this is?

Does anyone have any idea what this is? It is bolted down in the center of the center console with a wire that seems to loop back towards the stereo, temp control. I do have an aftermarket stereo head with and amp and subwoofer, but this piece is a mystery to me. Any ideas?
