So my awesome wife and I enjoy detailing our vehicles, and as I've mentioned a few times, I like to try new/different products to try, and different combinations of these products, to see which gives us the best results. I've used a lot of the big names out there by way of online shopping, as well as some of the brands that can be purchased locally at Cdn Tire and such.
Anyway, this is the latest combination we tried, along with some pictures:

Please let me know what you all think. And keep in mind, this car was always kept clean by the previous owner, but did not take the time to clay bar, compound, polish, wax, etc. so the car had several flaws, such as major swirl marks, minor swirl marks, light and deep scratches, and a couple very un-noticeable paint flaws from the factory. We were able to correct 90% of all the flaws but have a bit to do yet.

Never underestimate the effort to get a shine like that. Looks very nice.

Relax and have a cold beverage now.:Cheers2:

Hey Dub..
I'm loving the shine....great work by both of you.

Side note...
You should be adding a seal kit along the area at front edge of the hood.
Especially with your open-element air cleaners.
You can order a kit from a Corvette supply place or just stop by a motor home shop and pick-up a suitable size & length. I believe it is 39" long. Peel & stick.

I did notice the tires too and that's why I don't like the term "detailing" as I get into a mode where I can't seem to be able to detail my cars without doing everything.
I used to leave the tires because Canadian Tire seemed to only have sprays that were terrible when over-sprayed on to my chrome wheels.
I also used Back-to-Black from Canadian Tire on my splash guards and all other black pieces. Toxix put me on to a product called "CarPro PERL" which I found at a detailing supply store in Calgary called Carzilla. You would have to dig up a place where/near you are. The CarPro Perl has turned out to be a saviour and is awesome in that I found it makes Back-to-Black even Blacker and the tires shiney for about a day or two and then just to Black. It has a cost but I have used it on 5 vehicles so far and still have about 80% in the bottle. It is a cream-type product that means the chrome doesn't get any of it on. If you get a chance to find it, I'm pretty sure you will love the results. Use a cloth that can be disposed of for your first time on the tires the cloth becomes rather black too. So do tires after all the other black parts.

I Googled a source for Edmonton - autoobsessed.com has CarPro PERL, one litre for $36.00 Autoobsessed looks like quite the place, I'll have to go over and check them out.

That Store looks like an awesome shop. Make sure to call them that CarPro Perl is in stock and put one away for you (I am told down here it doesn't stay in stock very long).
I have the 500ml size that should do 20 details. Also shops like this have some of the most awesome seamless polish/wipe cloths to treat your baby real goooood.

I'm looking forward to checking them out sometime soon.

Dub, I do enjoy your idea of trying new products. It helps you keep an open mind and really opens up your options for you. As a detailer, this is exactly what I do. I stick to one line of product every year. For example, this year is the year of Pinnacle Black Label, last year was Sonax's year and the year before that was Ultima's products. Your ride looks great man.

I started 7 years ago with the whole Zaino platform, ofcourse after having moved on from store brand/Canadian Tire stuff. Zaino was the product that drew me into detailing and multistep process to acheive the show car shine. I washed my car quite frequently back then given it was a 2010 Black Mustang. I was also struggling to keep it clean because I wanted to start detailing for money at that point and time but found it very challenging to build clientele.

Once you move out of the store brand stuff like the entry level Meguiar's product or the Turtle Wax product you find at Canadian Tire you'll be at a whole new level.

You'll find products performing siginificantly better while using less. You'll find much more satisfaction from even the most simple products like car shampoos, detail sprays and tire shine.

Some of my clients rides (I apologize if it has come out extra large)

Holy Crap Toxix those rides are awesome Sick ... you got any detailing miracle pictures of a Dodge Aires K Car or a Gremlin and product used?
But wait, maybe these cars are not known for being "detailed" eh (other than with duct tape) ;)
