If you don't have a firm handle on a dealership that has a allocation for a convertible (and a deposit on that) I would not set my expectations too high. Allocations are given to the dealers by coupe and convertible, this time of year getting a C7 for this summer has been next to impossible for most dealerships. C7's might be had but it won't be the one you want to order, perhaps the used car market will get you one but I have seen those priced above MSRP in the recent past. In Canada it has been difficult since 2013 to get a C7 if you want a car built to your specs, you have to get in line.
Last year I had to make that decision on taking a 2014 or waiting for 2015 but I was concerned about price increases, my car would have cost me $12k more as a 2015 if I had waited. GM has their C7 buyers by the short hairs, maybe that will change as demand is satisfied but I doubt prices will go down. Saw a 2007 C6 at a 'Vette show last week in Windsor, he had the original sticker in the window, it had a few options but not a Z06, price before tax $92k.
