Thanks..im going to do a bit of reading as to what exactly can be done to a stocker tune to gain a few HP..fuel mileage..shift points..etc... What does a tune cost anyways? Is it mail order or done on site? Maybe Manny will chime in if he reads this Thanks

Bump it up to 8 and then 10 degrees BTDC and run high octane fuel....you should not get any ping with it being set there...test it on both settings. You will notice much better throttle response. I have my 86 set at 10 with no issues....

101,000 kms...not sure what im going to do right now. Have to get it looked at first and go from there. If it is just the gaskets i will have them replaced and hope for the best. Would like to rebuild (383 is pretty popular from what i have heard) but it would probably be out of my budget...
