Riley, That is correct. My '56 is a late August car and engine is painted red. As per the NCRS Technical and Judging guide, only the last few weeks of production cars had the engines painted orange. Pierre

1956 Corvette engines were painted red. Engine colour changed to orange at the end of the '56 production year. Only the last 100 (or so) cars had engines painted orange. Pierre
