[QUOTE="MKC8, post: 335852, member: 8934"] Not that much, but I can do it from my living room, or the local mall, or my shrink's office during my OCD therapy, or the public health clinic getting an STI evaluation. I don't have to be "in the car". I can get alerts for recalls, and some other "reminders" about service status and so on, but the app's info on my phone isn't being updated, so I would imagine OnStar isn't "scraping" anything significant from me, anyway. Maybe they're just "sniffing" it? It can also flash the lights without honking the horn and annoying the other shoppers, if my Alzheimers kicks in at the Walmart, and I can't remember where I parked. I can schedule service through it, and set different notification preferences for things like theft alerts, upcoming service requirements, and some other odds and ends, that I can adjust without going out to the car in the middle of a blizzard, during polar bear season. The settings screen requires me to be sitting in the car. The app does this stuff remotely. And since it's just one more "scraping" method out of thousands on your phone or TV or any other internet connected device, that have also sampled your data, why worry about it, one way or the other?
